MySQL Binary logs problems

Printer-friendly versionPrinter-friendly version

I noticed that my MySQL directory on the development machine was becoming HUGE, and the mysql daemon quite slow too. The reason was a lot of mysqld-bin.xxxxxx files, about 1Gb in size each.

Googling, I found this articles that explains how to fix that.
http://linux-howto-guide.blogspot.com/2009/10/mysqld-bin-logs-problem.html

Log in to mysql as the administrator (root) user, and run:

mysql> flush logs;
mysql> reset master;

That's it! The mysql daemon should have deleted the files. To completely disable the mysqld-bin logging, by commenting out the log-bin line in /etc/mysql/my.cnf and restarting mysql.

Some time before, I did need to buy a good car for my corporation but I didn't earn enough money and couldn't purchase something. Thank heaven my mate suggested to try to get the business loans at reliable creditors. Thus, I acted that and was satisfied with my auto loan.
